A healthcare professional who provides essential care and support to patients or residents in various healthcare settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and private homes. CNAs work under the supervision of licensed nurses (LPNs or RNs) and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.CNAs play a critical role in ensuring patients’ comfort, dignity, and safety, often serving as the primary caregivers who maintain close, day-to-day interactions with individuals needing assistance.
A caregiver who provides support services to individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, or other special needs, typically in group homes, residential facilities, or home settings. The primary role of a DSW is to help individuals live as independently and safely as possible while promoting dignity, choice, and quality of life.
DSWs assist with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, housekeeping, community engagement, transportation to appointments, and participation in social or recreational activities. They also help clients develop life skills and provide emotional support and companionship.
